Comprehensive Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Evaluations
If you have spent your life feeling like you have to work twice as hard just to keep up with everyone else, you are not alone. Perhaps you feel like your mind is constantly racing, or conversely, wrapped in a fog that makes starting tasks feel impossible. Maybe you are tired of being told you just need to “try harder,” “get organized,” or “stop being so sensitive.”
For many teens and adults, living with undiagnosed Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) feels like navigating a chaotic world without a map. At Wildflower Psychotherapy & Assessment, PLLC, we provide comprehensive, deeply compassionate ADHD testing and evaluations for teens (ages 11 and up) and adults. Located in Davidson, NC, and offering robust telehealth options for residents of Missouri and Florida, our goal is to help you finally find the clarity you deserve.
An ADHD evaluation at Wildflower is more than just a medical test; it is a crucial, empowering step toward understanding how your unique brain works and unlocking your true potential.
A Neurodivergent-Affirming Approach to ADHD Assessments
We do not view ADHD as a “broken” brain that needs to be fixed. Instead, we recognize it as a different kind of operating system—one that comes with its own distinct set of incredible strengths, alongside very real challenges in a neurotypical world.
Led by Karrah Wood, MS, LPC, our practice is fundamentally grounded in a neurodivergent-affirming philosophy. What does this mean for your evaluation? It means that throughout the testing process, we celebrate the unique talents associated with ADHD—such as rapid problem-solving, deep empathy, boundless creativity, and the ability to hyper-focus on passions.
Our commitment extends far beyond identifying deficits or slapping a label on a struggle. We aim to unravel the complexities of your lived experience. By combining standardized psychological tools, in-depth clinical interviews, and a profound, personal understanding of the neurodivergent experience, we create an environment where you can finally feel seen, heard, and validated. We want you to not only understand your diagnosis but to embrace it as a source of strength, enabling you to grow exactly where you are.
Evaluations are available for children (at least 11 years old), teens, and adults. Evaluations are comprehensive, meaning that testing covers a broad number of mental health disorders (i.e., mood disorders, depression, anxiety, etc,). Evaluations are neurodivergent-affirming, meaning that screening for ADHD and ASD is included. Evaluations are $1200 and this cost includes an intake session, 2-3 testing sessions, scoring/interpretation/report-writing, and a feedback session.
What Our ADHD Testing Process Looks Like
Free Initial Consultation
Finding the right clinician is the most important part of this journey. We offer a free, brief consultation to discuss your current struggles, answer your initial questions, and ensure that our practice is the right fit for your specific needs before you commit financially.
Comprehensive Intake Session
If we decide to move forward, our first official step is a detailed intake interview. We will sit down (either in our Davidson, NC office or via a secure virtual platform) to discuss your personal history, childhood experiences, educational background, and the specific challenges that brought you to us. We listen to your story without judgment.
The Testing Sessions (2 to 3 Visits
Next, we will conduct the formal testing. Because our evaluations are highly comprehensive, this usually takes place over 2 to 3 sessions. We utilize gold-standard, evidence-based psychological assessments. Furthermore, because we are neurodivergent-affirming, our testing automatically screens for both ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as a broad spectrum of other mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. We want to ensure we are seeing the whole picture, not just a fragment.
Feedback Session & Your Personalized Roadmap
After the testing is complete, we will carefully score the assessments and write a detailed, personalized report. We will then meet for a dedicated feedback session. This is not a rushed conversation; we take the time to thoroughly educate you on your results, answer every single question you have, and walk you through our treatment recommendations. You will leave with a tangible, holistic roadmap designed to enhance your focus, nurture your strengths, and build resilience. We even provide vetted resources so you don't have to do the heavy lifting of searching for the next steps yourself.

We believe in complete transparency when it comes to your healthcare investment. There are no hidden fees, surprise bills, or confusing add-ons at Wildflower.

Virtual ADHD Evaluations for
Missouri & Florida Residents
While our physical roots are in Davidson, North Carolina, we believe that high-quality, neurodivergent-affirming care should not be limited by geography. Wildflower Psychotherapy & Assessment proudly offers secure, fully virtual ADHD and mental health testing for residents of Missouri and Florida.
Through our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, you can undergo the entire evaluation process from the comfort and safety of your own home. Virtual testing utilizes the same gold-standard assessments and rigorous clinical standards as our in-person evaluations. For many neurodivergent individuals, testing from their own sensory-safe environment actually reduces anxiety and allows for a more authentic assessment.
FAQS
Wildflower Psychotherapy & Assessment is considered an out-of-network provider. This allows us to provide highly personalized, thorough care without the rigid time constraints and restrictions often imposed by insurance companies. We can, however, provide you with a “Superbill”—a detailed receipt containing the necessary medical coding—that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend calling your insurance provider beforehand to ask about your out-of-network benefits for psychological testing.
We test both! We provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for adolescents (ages 11 and up) and adults. We have a special passion for working with late-diagnosed adults who have spent years navigating life without an explanation for their neurodivergent experiences.
No. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Clinical Psychologist, Karrah Wood provides diagnostic testing, assessment, and psychotherapy. We do not prescribe medication. However, your comprehensive evaluation report is exactly what you need to provide to a psychiatrist or your primary care physician to discuss medication management. We are happy to collaborate with your medical providers to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
The timeline can vary slightly depending on scheduling availability, but generally, the process from the initial intake session to the final feedback session takes about 4 to 6 weeks. We prioritize meticulous, accurate reporting over rushing the process.
During your feedback session, we will provide you with a tailored roadmap for the future. If you are an adult located in NC, MO, or FL, you have the option to transition into one-on-one psychotherapy with us, where we can actively work on the coping mechanisms and emotional healing outlined in your report. If you are a teen (as we currently only provide therapy for adults), or if you need a different type of specialist, we will provide you with trusted, vetted referrals so you are fully supported on your next steps.
